Application Form CSAV – Artists Research Laboratory 2017

CSAV- Artists Research Laboratory is an experimental platform designed to stimulate formal and informal discussions and exchanges among artists of different generations and nationalities. It aims to explore different forms of art making through un-institutional teaching methods and presents a highly flexible structure, which will be shaped in dialogue with the invited artists. Between fifteen and twenty young artists from all nationalities will be selected. They will attend daily workshops and seminars run by the invited artists and guest lecturers.

The lab is open to candidates between 18 and 35 years old. No study certificate is required, but English is essential.
Attendance to the lab is free of charge. Travelling and accommodation expenses as well as costs of artwork production and shipment are to be covered by the participants.

To apply, please fill in the application form ( and upload a portfolio of artworks in pdf format (max 10 Mb and 30 pages long). Online links to YouTube or Vimeo can be specified in the note box of the application form (along with the necessary login/password information if required – i.e. if the material is not made public).

Audio and video files can also be sent on CD or DVD to CSAV, Fondazione Antonio Ratti - Villa Sucota, Via per Cernobbio 19, 22100 Como, Italy. At the end of the selection process multimedia material can be returned upon request (costs are to be covered by the applicant).
In case of a collective practice, only one of the members is required to fill in the application form. Please specify it in the note box of the application form and also indicate the name of the collective and the names of all the other members.

The application and all required materials must be sent by April 2nd 2017.

Please note:
The portfolios of the selected artists will be published on the website of the Fondazione Antonio Ratti from the announcement date of the selection until the opening of next year’s call for submission.
