Advanced Course in Visual Arts

Epson for Arts
Epson FAR Award for Artistic Research

Epson created this prize with the aim of reaffirming its commitment to art, and especially the art of grooming young talents. Epson Italia, sales company of Epson Group, believes that today’s companies have to participate actively in the larger sphere. Thus Epson sponsors events of high cultural level that can contribute to the development and growth of our society as a whole. It is with this spirit that Epson works together with the Antonio Ratti Foundation, effectively giving its technological know-how and experience in support of the Foundation’s activities, and specifically, in support of the Advanced Course in Visual Arts.
Technology is fast becoming an important tool in the artistic quest because it can “interpret” an increasingly complex reality demanding sophisticated instruments that can communicate fluidly on different levels. Internationally renowned video artists have chosen Epson as the means for representing their particular artistic vision, and young artists such as those in the Advanced Course in Visual Arts had the opportunity to try out the versatility and enormous expressive potential of digital instruments in their own work.
By means of the Epson - FAR Award for Artistic Research, Epson seeks not only to reward the most interesting works in terms of visual experimentation, but also to support the artists by offering them a digital instrument that can truly contribute to their artistic quest.
